The Great Pyramids of Giza...I went really far to get this shot so enjoy it. These things are HUGE...I can't even explain it to you. Each limestone brick is about the size of a Buick. And the largest pyramid has over 2 million limestone bricks
I'm leaving for Dubai this sat 1/31. I'll be in a hotel for the first couple weeks until I find an apartment and I'm pretty sure I'll have high speed internet at my fingertips the whole time I'm there. If not...I'm going to be pretty peeved and I'll have to find some sort of internet cafe. But I think it'll be fine. If they can build ISLANDS in the MIDDLE OF THE WATER, I think they can handle a T1 line, so fret not. Everyone wants to know how I'm doing, how I'm feeling. It's weird. Jetlag sucks...I think the devil himself invented it to mess with our minds. I can't tell what day or what time it is. I don't fall asleep before 5am and I wake up at about 8am or 9am feeling pretty good, only to completely crash at about 2pm or 3pm like a 3 year old. It sucks...I'm waiting for my body to get acclamated but it's not happening. Otherwise it's cool. I'm trying to just relax and enjoy this week of not having to worry about much because once I hit Dubai it's going to be pretty chaotic, between trying to find residence, learning my way around, starting the new job, and getting into a groove. I really miss all you guys. It's funny...the last 2 months back home I didn't really feel nostalgic or sad just crazed with preparing for my departure...now that I'm here and cut off from everyone, I'm feeling a little homesick. And a little freaked that I'm going somewhere completely new without knowing ANYONE. But I'm also a little excited. OK...this is all you get for now. I'll update more soon, hopefully. Enjoy the pics of Cairo...it really is beautiful.
My cousin got married this past weekend and the wedding was fun. I know it doesn't really have anything to do with the blog but I couldn't help myself...I just look too damn sexy in a suit, that I thought it only fair to share with the rest of you.
Egyptian weddings start around 10pm and end around 4am...that's 6 hours. You get 1 hour to eat. The rest is this...dancing. For FIVE HOURS. They put us to shame. And none of this electric slide shit. These guys are going at it! I'm talking rump shaking for the whole time.
OK...more updates to come.
